Description
The Standard Tissue Forcep 16 cm / 6-1/4" with 2:3 teeth is a longer toothed forcep providing a firm hold on tougher tissue such as fascia and muscle.
01Product Overview
The Standard Tissue Forcep, 16 cm / 6-1/4" with 2:3 teeth is a longer toothed thumb forcep for firmer tissue handling. The tooth arrangement places two teeth on one jaw interlocking with three on the other, which provides a more substantial hold than the 1:2 arrangement found on an Adson. This suits the instrument to tougher structures such as fascia, thicker skin, muscle and dense connective tissue, where a finer tooth may lose its grip. The 16 cm length is the second distinguishing feature.
It allows tissue to be held at a greater distance from the hand, which is useful during abdominal procedures and when working in a deeper field. The plain spring handle is lighter than an Adson platform. Because the teeth are more substantial, the instrument is not appropriate for delicate skin or fine layers, where a finer pattern should be selected.
