Description
The Balfour Abdominal Retractor Balfour Abdominal Retractor- Centre Blade = 100x70mm, Blade Large = 35mm, Blade Small=70mm has a deeper centre blade and a 200 mm opening, maintaining exposure in large and deep chested patients.
01Product Overview
The Balfour Abdominal Retractor, Centre Blade = 100x70mm, Blade Large = 35mm, Blade Small=70mm, Opening width 200mm is the larger of the two configurations offered. The centre blade measures 100x70 mm rather than 45x80 mm, making it considerably deeper, and the frame opens to 200 mm rather than 180 mm. The deeper centre blade is the more significant difference in veterinary practice. In a large or deep chested patient a shallow centre blade will not reach far enough into the abdomen to hold the cranial margin, and the incision closes at that end despite the lateral blades holding.
A deeper blade maintains the full length of the exposure. Lateral blades of 35 mm and 70 mm retract the body wall on the ratcheted bar. This configuration suits large breeds, deep chested patients and procedures requiring exposure of the cranial abdomen. The centre blade remains removable.
