Description

The Dean Rongeur, Length 5.75 is a fine curved rongeur with a 3x10 mm tip, removing small bone fragments to reduce an irregular margin gradually.

01Product Overview

The Dean Rongeur, length 5.75 curved with a 3x10 mm tip, is a fine bone biting instrument. Its cupped jaws close to remove a small fragment of bone with each bite, which allows an irregular bone margin to be reduced gradually rather than divided in one cut. This is the required approach when trimming alveolar bone after extraction, smoothing a sharp margin or removing small spicules, where a single cut would remove too much and a file would be too slow.

The 3 mm jaw width is narrow enough for oral work and the curve allows the tip to reach around a structure. Rongeur jaws must be kept sharp, as a dull instrument crushes bone rather than biting it cleanly.
