Description

The Backhaus Towel Forcep 9 cm / 3-1/2" is a small ratcheted clamp with sharp crossing points used to secure veterinary surgical drapes around the operative site.

01Product Overview

The Backhaus Towel Forcep, 9 cm / 3-1/2" is used to secure surgical drapes in position around the operative site. The tips are sharp and curved so that when the ratchet is closed they cross and penetrate the drape material, holding it firmly against displacement during the procedure. The 9 cm size is the smaller of the two offered and is the more commonly used in small animal practice, being light enough that it does not drag the drape out of position under its own weight.

Towel clamps are always used in sets, with four typically required to secure a four quadrant drape. HK Medical Instruments supplies four of these forceps within its canine and feline spay packs and its general surgery pack. The sharp points require care during handling and when counting instruments, as they can penetrate glove material readily.
