Description

The Stevens Tenotomy Scissor 11 cm / 4-1/2" straight, has fine blunt tips allowing tissue planes to be spread open safely as well as cut.

01Product Overview

The Stevens Tenotomy Scissor, 11 cm / 4-1/2" straight, is often confused with an iris scissor but differs in one important respect. Both are fine instruments with short blades, yet the iris tips are sharply pointed while the Stevens tips are blunt and rounded. That difference changes the technique available. A Stevens scissor can be introduced closed into a tissue plane and opened to spread it, separating structures without cutting, which is the safest way to work around a vessel or nerve.

An iris scissor cannot be used this way without risk of puncture. The Stevens still cuts cleanly when division is required. It is used in ophthalmic surgery, fine soft tissue dissection and procedures around delicate structures where blunt separation is preferred.
