Description

The Gall Bladder Cystotomy Spoon 9-1/2" with 12 mm and 13 mm bowls, is the largest pairing, seating substantial calculi securely for removal.

01Product Overview

The Gall Bladder Cystotomy Spoon, 9-1/2" with 12 mm and 13 mm bowls, is the largest of the three pairings. A larger bowl is required for a substantial calculus because a stone that overhangs the rim will not be lifted securely and is liable to roll free during withdrawal, at which point it may be lost within the abdomen or, worse, dropped back into the organ after the veterinary surgeon believed it removed. The 12 mm and 13 mm bowls seat larger stones fully.

The instrument is used in large breed cystotomy, gall bladder surgery and cases with a single large calculus. Practices encountering a range of stone sizes should hold more than one pairing, since a bowl that is too large is as unhelpful as one that is too small.
