Description
The Freer Elevator and Raspatory 185 mm / 7-1/4", is the longer size, keeping the hand clear of the field during deeper flap elevation.
01Product Overview
The Freer Elevator and Raspatory, 185 mm / 7-1/4", is the longer of the two sizes. The additional 35 mm matters more than the figure suggests. Periosteal elevation requires the blade to be kept in constant contact with bone, and that contact depends on the operator controlling the angle precisely. When the working site is deep, a short instrument forces the hand into the approach where it both obscures the view and makes small angular corrections difficult.
The longer shaft keeps the hand outside the field while the blade remains under accurate control. This size suits nasal procedures, deeper oral work and flap elevation in larger patients. The blade retains the slim flexible profile that allows it to follow the bone surface.

04Frequently Asked Questions
When is the 185 mm size preferable?
At deeper sites, where a shorter instrument forces the hand into the approach and obscures the view.
Does the longer shaft affect control?
It improves it at depth, since the hand stays clear while the blade angle remains accurately controlled.
