Description

The Gemini Artery and Ligature Forcep 16 cm / 6-1/4" has a slim strongly curved tip for passing ligatures behind vessels and for fine dissection before ligation.

01Product Overview

The Gemini Artery and Ligature Forcep, 16 cm / 6-1/4" is designed for a task that a conventional haemostat performs poorly. Its jaws are slim and strongly curved, which allows the tip to be passed beneath a vessel and brought up on the far side. A ligature may then be gripped and drawn back around the vessel in one movement. This is considerably more controlled than attempting to pass a ligature with a straight or gently curved instrument, and it reduces the handling of the vessel itself.

The same tip profile also makes the Gemini a capable fine dissector for defining a vessel before ligation. At 16 cm it provides adequate reach for abdominal work while remaining precise. The slim jaws are not intended for heavy crushing, and a Carmalt or Pean should be used where a substantial pedicle must be occluded.
