Description
The Weitlaner Retractor 10.5 cm / 4-1/4" with Teeth = 2x3 SH, is the smallest Weitlaner pattern, spreading retraction force across multiple points in small incisions.
01Product Overview
The Weitlaner retractor 10.5 cm / 4-1/4" with Teeth = 2x3 SH is the smallest Weitlaner in the range. Unlike a Gelpi, which anchors at a single point, the Weitlaner carries a row of prongs on each arm. Here the arrangement is two prongs opposing three, which spreads the retracting force across several points of contact instead of concentrating it at one. The practical effect is that the tissue is less likely to tear under tension, which matters when the wound margin is short or the tissue is thin.
The prongs on this pattern are sharp, meaning they penetrate and anchor firmly in fascia and muscle. This instrument is compact and suited to aural procedures, small soft tissue approaches and work in small patients. HK Medical Instruments supplies this retractor within its ear pack, where a small self-retaining instrument is required around the pinna and canal.

04Frequently Asked Questions
What does 2x3 teeth mean?
One arm carries two prongs and the opposing arm carries three, so the prongs interleave when the retractor is closed.
Why choose a Weitlaner over a Gelpi?
Multiple prongs spread the retracting force, which reduces the risk of tearing thin tissue or a short wound margin.
