Stevens Tenotomy Scissor 13 cm Straight

The Stevens Tenotomy Scissor, 13 cm straight, is the longer of the two Stevens patterns. The additional 2 cm serves a specific purpose during sharp dissection. Spreading a tissue plane requires the closed tips to be advanced to the point of separation before being opened, and if the instrument is too short the operator must push the hand into the approach to reach that point.

At 13 cm the tips reach further while the fingers stay clear, which preserves both the view and the fine control that sharp dissection depends on. The blunt rounded tips allow safe spreading and the blades cut cleanly when division is needed. This length suits deeper periocular work, soft tissue dissection in medium sized patients and general fine dissection.
