Description
The Micro-Mosquito Artery Forcep 10 cm / 4" with 1:2 teeth, is the smallest haemostat in the range, for very fine vessels in exotic, avian and microsurgical work.
01Product Overview
The Micro-Mosquito Artery Forcep, 10 cm / 4" with 1:2 teeth, is the smallest haemostatic forcep offered. At 10 cm it is shorter than a standard mosquito and the jaws are correspondingly finer, which allows a very small vessel to be occluded without including adjacent tissue. The 1:2 tooth arrangement at the tip provides additional security against slipping, which is valuable when the structure being held is too small for serrations alone to grip reliably.
The instrument is used in exotic, avian and small mammal surgery, in microsurgical procedures, and in any situation where a standard mosquito is disproportionate to the vessel. The reduced length also places the jaws closer to the fingers, improving control. As with all fine instruments, it should not be applied to larger vessels or dense tissue, as the jaws will spring under load and lose alignment.
