Description
The Iris Fine Scissor 9 cm/3-1/2" sharp-sharp, straight, is the smallest pattern, placing the blades near the fingertips for maximum tactile control.
01Product Overview
The Iris Fine Scissor, 9 cm/3-1/2" sharp-sharp straight, is the smallest scissor in the range. Reducing overall length to 9 cm places the blades almost directly beneath the fingertips, and that proximity is the reason to choose it. Tactile feedback improves markedly when the working end is close to the hand, and leverage reduces, which means less force reaches the tissue for a given movement of the fingers. On structures where excessive force causes immediate damage this is a genuine advantage rather than a refinement.
The instrument suits ophthalmic procedures, avian and exotic surgery, neonatal patients and microsurgical work. The straight tips align with the handle for cutting along a direct line. These are precision blades and must not be used on suture or dressings.
