Description
The Ferguson Angiotribe Forcep 17 cm, 6-3/4" is a heavy grooved crushing clamp that occludes large vascular pedicles more completely than a conventional haemostat.
01Product Overview
The Ferguson Angiotribe Forcep, 17 cm, 6-3/4" is among the heaviest crushing clamps in general veterinary use. The angiotribe pattern is purpose built to occlude substantial vascular tissue. Its jaws are broad and carry a deep central groove flanked by raised edges, an arrangement that crushes the tissue while forcing the vessel walls together within the groove. The result is more complete occlusion of a large pedicle than a conventional haemostat can achieve, and a clearly defined channel in which a ligature may be seated.
The instrument is used in large animal surgery, in castration of larger species, and in procedures involving substantial or heavily vascularised tissue. It is deliberately robust and correspondingly heavy in the hand. Because the crushing action is severe, the angiotribe is applied only to tissue that is to be removed or permanently ligated, and never to structures that must remain viable.
