01Product Overview
The Feline Periosteal Elevator, Fig. 8, is scaled specifically for the cat. This is not simply a smaller instrument but a necessary one, since feline oral tissue is markedly thinner than canine and the working space is correspondingly restricted. An elevator proportioned for a dog cannot be positioned accurately at a feline gingival margin, and a blade too wide for the site will perforate tissue that offers very little thickness to work with.
Feline extractions frequently involve resorptive lesions where a flap is required and the tissue is already compromised. A correctly scaled instrument raises that flap intact. Fig. 8 provides one of the blade profiles within the feline range.
