Description

The Double Ended Periosteal Elevator Fig. 13, carries two blade profiles on one shaft, allowing a change of profile by reversing the instrument.

01Product Overview

The Double Ended Periosteal Elevator, Fig. 13, carries a different blade profile at each end of a single shaft. The advantage is procedural rather than merely economical. During flap elevation the operator frequently needs to change profile part way through, using one shape to begin at the gingival margin and another to continue along the bone or to turn a corner at the release incision.

With single ended instruments this means putting one down and picking up another, and each exchange interrupts the work and adds an instrument to the tray. A double ended elevator is simply reversed in the hand. The instrument also occupies one slot in a cassette rather than two.
