Description
The Webster Needle Holder 12 cm delicate TC Gold is a fine-jawed veterinary needle holder intended for small suture sizes in eyelid, skin and precision closure.
01Product Overview
The Webster Needle Holder, 12 cm delicate pattern is designed for suturing with fine needles. Its jaws are narrower and shorter than those of a general purpose holder. This is a deliberate feature, as a fine needle held in a wide jaw is liable to rotate during a pass, which alters the intended angle of the bite. The narrow Webster jaw holds a small needle securely at the required position. The jaws carry TC Gold tungsten carbide inserts, which provide a firm grip without excessive closing pressure.
This protects both the needle and the ratchet mechanism over the working life of the instrument. The Webster is appropriate for eyelid repair, periocular procedures, intradermal closure where cosmetic outcome is important, laceration repair in small patients, and work on exotic and avian species. The instrument is not intended for heavy cutting needles or dense fascia, and using it outside its intended range will shorten jaw life. Employed within its intended applications, it offers a level of precision that a general purpose holder cannot provide.

04Frequently Asked Questions
When should a Webster be selected in preference to a Mayo-Hegar?
The Webster should be selected for fine needles and delicate closure, as its narrow jaws hold small needles more securely.
May it be used with larger needles?
This is not advised. Heavy needles will accelerate jaw wear and may cause the jaws to spring over time.
Does the Webster cut suture?
No. It grips only, so separate suture scissors are required.
