Description
The Feline Periosteal Elevator Fig. 7, is a further blade profile in the feline range, giving an alternative starting shape for flap elevation.
01Product Overview
The Feline Periosteal Elevator, Fig. 7, provides a further blade profile within the feline range. Practices performing regular feline dentistry tend to accumulate two or three periosteal figures rather than relying on one, and the reason is practical rather than indulgent. Feline extraction sites vary in accessibility, and the figure that starts a flap cleanly on a caudal premolar will not necessarily do so at a different position in the arcade.
Having an alternative profile available avoids forcing an unsuitable blade, which is what perforates a flap. Fig. 7 is used in the same manner as the other feline figures, kept in contact with bone throughout so the mucoperiosteum lifts as a single intact layer.

04Frequently Asked Questions
How many periosteal figures should a practice hold?
Two or three, since the profile that starts a flap cleanly at one site will not suit every position in the arcade.
What happens if an unsuitable blade is forced?
It perforates the flap, which then heals poorly.
