Micro-Adson Tissue Forcep 12 cm / 4-3/4" Rat Tooth 1:2

The Micro-Adson Tissue Forcep, 12 cm is a refined version of the standard Adson pattern. The overall length is the same, but the tips are narrower and the 1:2 rat teeth are proportionally smaller. This distinction matters in practice. A standard Adson tooth can leave a visible mark when applied to thin or delicate skin, whereas the finer micro tooth holds securely while leaving less impression on the tissue.

The instrument is therefore selected for eyelid margins, thin skin in small patients, fine subcutaneous layers and closures where the cosmetic result is a consideration. The wide flat handle is retained, so the forceps remains comfortable to hold in a pen grip. It should be noted that the finer tips are less suited to dense or fibrous tissue, where the standard Adson pattern will provide a more dependable hold. Veterinary practices performing detailed soft tissue work commonly hold both patterns.
