Description

The Adson-Brown Tissue Forceps 12 cm with 7x7 teeth, is a multi-tooth forcep that spreads holding pressure across the tissue to reduce the risk of tearing.

01Product Overview

The Adson-Brown Tissue Forceps, 12 cm with 7x7 teeth, differs from the standard Adson in the arrangement of its tips. In place of one or two interlocking teeth, the Brown pattern carries seven small teeth in a row on each jaw, positioned to grasp from the side. The purpose of this arrangement is to distribute the holding pressure across a wider area of tissue. A single tooth concentrates force at one point, which is effective on skin but may tear a delicate layer.

Seven teeth acting together hold the same tissue securely while placing less stress on any one part of it. The veterinary surgical instrument is therefore used where tissue must be held firmly but handled carefully, including skin flaps, subcutaneous layers and fine soft tissue during dissection. The 7x7 arrangement is the finer of the two Brown patterns offered and is generally preferred for the most delicate work.

04Frequently Asked Questions

Why do Adson-Brown forceps have so many teeth?

Multiple small teeth spread the holding pressure across the tissue, which reduces the risk of tearing compared with a single tooth.

Should 7x7 or 9x9 be selected?

The 7x7 pattern is finer and preferred for delicate work. The 9x9 pattern spreads pressure further and holds more securely on tougher tissue.
