Iris Operating Scissor 11.5 cm curved is a fine instrument with short, sharply pointed blades. The proportions are what define it. The blades are very short relative to the shanks, which means each closure produces a small, highly controlled cut rather than a long stroke. Combined with sharp points capable of entering tissue precisely, this makes the scissor suited to work where every millimetre of the cut must be placed deliberately.

Applications include ophthalmic and periocular procedures, fine skin work, dissection in exotic and avian patients, and trimming of delicate tissue.
